Problem being solved
Running around the same city blocks can be boring and lead to not wanting to run anymore. I wanted an interactive way to explore my city with a twist.
Goals for the Project
Create a prototype app that would let me choose a path through my city and hear a fun story along the way that changes based on what I do.
Sketches
My design process always starts with sketches so I can have many fast rough drafts to try out new ideas.
I was able to sketch out a few ideas and create fast templates to work off of and get the basic idea for the experience down.
I had a handful of types of screens I would need to make the app flow smoothly including home, friends list, adventure pages to show the map and choices made, as well as awards and goals for the user to strive for.
Wireframes
The next course of action was to choose the best layouts from the sketches for each screen that I was ging to need in the prototype.
I was able to combine multiple elements of some sketches to create a well structured set of screens that used the limited space of an apple watch effectively.
Prototype 1
This iteration was the first step into the app becoming a reality.
I wanted to use Figma to prototype the interactions as soon as possible to ensure I had made the correct design decisions and the user wold be able to flow well through the experience.
At this stage I can do some preliminary testing to see if the buttons and layout of the experience is on the correct path before I continue forward to the polishing and art stage.
At this time this Project is still a Work In Progress and this page will be updated once the next steps are completed.
Next I will be doing testing and changing parts of the prototype based on the feedback. Then I will finalize the visual design and language of the app and flesh out the prototype to create the most seamless experience possible.
